Welcome to Week 47
of
The Cowgirl Up! Link Party!
1 Party, 5 Blogs  Our guest host this week is Bliss from Bliss Ranch
I'm Bliss, and needless to say I'm quite honored to be guest posting for Anita and the Cowgirl Up link party gals.  They all have a style that I could get comfortable in... sipping coffee, a glass of wine, or just cracking open an ice cold beer.  You can find me sipping and blogging at Bliss Ranch. Our ranch sits on 25 acres with a lake at one end, woods and field on the other and a house in the middle. It's a little bit country.....

Where the Day Melts Away...

We just arrived home this evening from a 5 hour drive. With kids. Kids fighting over one barely working old portable DVD player and a bag of goldfish crackers. Can you relate moms? Haha...honestly it wasn't bad. I'm out of the "diaper changing, bottle making" phase so road trips are much easier now. But after a long trip is there anything better than coming home to your own squishy soft, lovely bed? Of course not! In fact I plan to go get into this very bed right after I finish this post. Oh mushy marshmallow of cozy clean sheets how I love thee!

My bedroom has always, always ,always been white. My childhood furniture was a large set of white wicker pieces that worked well for me until high school. Maybe it's the artist in me, but white feels like a blank canvas that can be constantly edited with a few brushstrokes of color.

I love calming surroundings in a bedroom especially. Not too busy or fussy. Between the kids, black lab and the piles of laundry constantly being sorted on this bed there is enough busy-ness to distract me. I need a feeling of space, yet warmth and coziness at the same time. Boring by most "designer" standards, I always seem to revert back to my white fluffy bedding, cloud like duvet and soft glowing shabby lighting.

Part of my reason for sharing this with you is to show off my new bed skirt for my new king size bed! It is a wonderful thick white linen with a wrinkly gauzy look. It was custom made by Ruby + Stella Home of Etsy.
It arrived promptly, wrapped beautifully and smelled like a garden. I'm so happy with it! The super soft pink sheets are from Tar-jay (Target) and so is the the chenille like blanket, that I bought as a stand in, and am now in love with...because it feels like butta!

Another item I bought to sell on Etsy is this old lamp. I just recently discovered that the base lights up through a glowing lacy metal silhouette.  It is dreamy and functional because it lights up alone, like a night light, or with the top. I know it's a little 50's cheesy but something about it is so romantic to me...

And of course there's a picture on my nightstand of my first baby, miss Shadow. It's nice and cold here in Houston tonight. I shall enjoy my big warm down comforter for sure!

Tidings of Comfort and Joy to you too!

Welcome to Week 46 of The Cowgirl Up! Link Party!

Welcome to Week 46
of
The Cowgirl Up! Link Party!

1 Party, 5 Blogs

Our guest host this week is
Ally from Home By Ally!
Hi! I'm Ally from Home by Ally and I am SO happy to be here guest hosting for The Ivy Cottage and the Cowgirl Up Linky Party! What an honor! These ladies are such a great inspiration and I am truly grateful for the opportunity to be here and sharing my passion with y'all!

Home by Ally started roughly a year ago with a serious passion for all things pretty. I have always had a love for home decor and repurposing the old and new, furniture included. My great uncle, grandmother & mother have always been insanely into home decor with my uncle owning his own interior design business in North Carolina.

My little family and I just relocated to eastern Florida on account of my husband serving our country in the military. Since we are military and have lived in many houses that the military provides for you, I've always had to be creative with mostly white walls, cheap finishes and outdated looks. I'm so excited to be here in Florida and I hope to be here for awhile and get Home by Ally involved in the community and the local people!

Here are some of my favorite projects to date here at Home  by Ally!

One of my first favorite projects was this cute little DIY Painted Mason Jar Soap Dispenser. So adorable and so FREE. It was made from a spaghetti sauce jar and I had the lid on hand from another dispenser! You can find the link by clicking  here!

One of my most recent projects was this DIY NO SEW Burlap Table runner. We had just purchased the new farmhouse table and I need a custom runner over 100'' inches long! I couldn't find what I was looking for without paying an arm and a leg so I decided to make my own! You can find the link for my DIY no sew burlap runner by clicking here!

Next up was just from a week or so ago, this cute little lettered picture frame that I keep seeing pop up on Pinterest! It cost me $3 whole dollars to make! You can find the link for making your own lettered picture frame by clicking here!

While we were stationed in North Dakota, I really wanted a new bedroom set but we didn't' exactly have thousands to spend on one. So, I painted ours! You can see the master bedroom furniture reveal by clicking here!

And finally, one of my most FAVORITE projects to date was my custom DIY Nailhead Trim (Pottery Barn Inspired) Headboard! I still can't believe I did it on my own with only a trip to Lowe's. Yes, seriously. You can find out how to make your own Nailhead Trim Headboard by clicking here!

I hope y'all enjoyed all of my links to my favorite projects and getting to know the girl behind Home by Ally. You can find my blog by clicking here! Be sure to "follow" me and also "like" me on Facebook by clicking here! I just wanted to extend a sincere thanks to The Ivy Cottage Blog for allowing me to guest post and just for being so great all around :)

XOXO,
Ally from Home by Ally

Welcome to Week 45
of
The Cowgirl Up! Link Party!
1 Party, 4 Blogs

And this week, we have 5 BLOGS
and our second GUEST HOST!

Meet Mimi from Blue Roof Cabin
Hi I'm Mimi.  I am thrilled to be Guest Hosting for the Cowgirl Up link Party this week.

My blog Blue Roof Cabin is all about sharing my passion for all things DIY.  Whether it's building from scratch or re-purposing old castoffs into functional new pieces.  Not long ago I found a couple old doors at a local Salvage yard and turned them into this

and this my Kitchen Island.

I also built my Faux Mantel.  Here it is all decked out for Christmas this year.

I would call my decorating style Rustic Coastal Cabin.  I love to combine rustic pieces with natural elements in my decor.

If you have a moment come on over, I'd love to meet you!

Welcome to Week 44 of The Cowgirl Up! Link Party!

Welcome to Week 44
of
The Cowgirl Up! Link Party!
1 Party, 4 Blogs

And this week, we have 5 BLOGS
and our first GUEST HOST!

Meet Lisa from Fern Creek Cottage
Hi, my name is Lisa. I am so excited to be guest hosting at Cowgirl Up this week!

Our family just moved to Texas this summer and we are having so much fun exploring this great state! I hope to get a pair of pink boots soon and become an honorary cowgirl. ;)

The white library table was one of the first pieces of furniture I painted and it got me hooked!
My blog Fern Creek Cottage is all about my passion for creating a beautiful home on a budget. My idea of fun is to find "trash" from thrift stores and Craigslist and with a little paint or a glue gun, turn it into treasure!
This is one of the most recent pieces I've painted. A sweet little blue table for my guest room.

My design style loves are cottage style, vintage pieces, and a bit of French flair. I'd love for you to come visit me some time! I'll have to hot cocoa ready!
A little sneak peek of my Christmas decorating. I found some unfinished shutters at the thrift store for $1.99.

Blessings,
Lisa
